Antique Japanese Gold Lacquer Hand Painted Lidded Box Gilt Wood Meiji 19th C.

Description

Lovely, small, gilt lacquer box with a detailed and delicate scene of a bird flying below budded, flowering, vining branches (flowers look like wisteria).  Very elegant.  Box measures  3.25: x 1.25″ x 1″.  The box appears to be signed on the interior.  The condition is very good, with only a few tiny bits of wear to the gold, and some very small scratches. Gorgeous little box. Tried to photograph it on a background that would show it’s golden glow, but none of the photos quite captures it.
